We hold relevant trade secrets, which allow us to stay ahead of competition. Through our own R&D efforts we are building a patent portfolio for improved protein production. This allows us to offer unique solutions and opportunities to our customers.
We provide access to an unique collection of primarily Aspergillus strains, which are suitable for research purposes as well as industrial applications. One of our strains has a remarkably low viscosity. Furthermore, we have developed strains that secrete very little other proteins than the one of interest (of both homologous and heterologous origin). In addition, strains with a significantly reduced proteolytic activity have been developed, improving the stability of the protein of interest during the production phase and in relation to shelve life.
Our most important asset is our highly qualified team, including 7 PhDs and 10 university-trained technicians. Our team is a mix of molecular biologists, bioinformatics and fermentation experts with experience in both academia and industry.
We are located in the Science Park of Utrecht: a center of fungal excellence including both the Utrecht University with established fungal research groups and the Westerdijk Institute, the worlds largest fungal strain collection. Our 650+ m2 of facilities include labs for molecular biological research at Bio safety level I and II and for performing lab scale fermentations and downstream processing.
