We hold relevant trade secrets, which allow us to stay ahead of competition. Several patents dealing with the production of compounds using fungi were acquired, as part of the Management Buy Out with TNO. Through our own R&D efforts we have been able to extend this portfolio. It allows us to offer our customers unique solutions and opportunities.
We provide access to an unique collection of Aspergilli strains, which are suitable for research purposes as well as industrial applications. We have developed strains that do not secrete any other proteins than the one of interest (homologous and heterologous). In addition, strains with a significantly reduced proteolytic activity have been developed, improving the stability of the protein of interest during the production phase.
Our most important asset is our highly qualified team. It consists of 10 PhDs and 9 university-trained technicians. Our team is a mix of molecular biologists and fermentation experts with experience in both academia and industry.
We are located in the Science Park of Utrecht; center of excellence. Our 650+ m2 of facilities include labs for molecular biological research at Bio safety level I and II and for performing lab scale fermentations and downstream processing.
